Charity

RedCat is proud to support Brainwave as our charity of choice.

Brainwave help over 600 children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence.  Helping to improve their mobility communication skills and learning potential through a range of educational and physical therapies. Their therapists, consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, educational and speech & language therapists, work with each family to devise a unique programme of exercises, specifically designed to suit their child’s needs, which will help and encourage them to unlock their child’s potential.  This may be anything from helping them to sit up, walk or ride a bike, to recognising colours or saying their name. Brainwave helps children from the age of 3 months – 12 years old who have a range of diagnoses or conditions, including cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome and autism. In 2016 they were able to extend our services across the South East and open a clinic in London, allowing us to see families that were not able to travel to one of our permanent centres in Essex, Somerset or Cheshire.

RedCat Digital started supporting Brainwave in 2013 via Paul Adkins, a previous employee, whose daughter (Grace) has developmental delay. Grace attended Brainwave for therapy for 8 years. Since 2013 RedCat and our employees have raised £7,276.20 + Gift Aid for Brainwave. At the end of 2013 RedCat hosted a relaunch night for their new brand, and also held an auction for Brainwave which raised £1,431. Since then RedCat has attended countless events including our Walk For Brainwave, a 5k treasure hunt walk which took them around many film sites in London, and our 5k London Santa Dash.

In 2015, in lieu of buying Christmas cards, RedCat invited a few of Brainwave’s children to create their own Christmas cards, these were then sent to our contacts and a donation was made to Brainwave.  Those children and their families were then invited to attend Redcat’s Christmas party.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and Father Christmas (aka Jamie Webber) joined the party to give the children gifts. Not only have RedCat supported Brainwave through donations but the team has also volunteered at the last 3 London Santa Dashes. Notably, Sarah Childs and 3 friends took part in the Brentwood Half Marathon in 2014 and raised over £850 for Brainwave.
