RedCat is proud to support Brainwave as our charity of choice.
Paul Adkins has been a manager at RedCat since 2004, in 2006 he and his wife Elaine gave birth to their beautiful daughter Grace. Grace was born with global development delay and in 2008 they were introduced to Brainwave.
Brainwave had an instant impact on both Grace’s development and educating Paul and Elaine on how best to support their child.
Brainwave now positively impacts on the lives of over 550 children with disabilities and special needs from throughout the UK and Ireland.
Their growth and regional outreach have been driven by their commitment to bring measurable improvements to the lives of children with physical, sensory, learning, cognitive and behavioural ‘additional needs’ caused by Cerebral Palsy, genetic conditions, Autism and Developmental Delay.
Recognising the impact on families of having a child with special needs, Brainwave has always maintained that parents and carers have a very significant part to play in providing their unique input to each child’s developmental needs. That is why an initial assessment of two full days is offered to each family where the needs and expectations of both the disabled child and the parent(s) can be fully understood.
So since celebrating their 30th Anniversary in 2012 their vision for the future is to be able to have an impact on the lives of over 700 children by 2015, using their well-proven model at their three permanent centres in England and satellite clinics in Scotland and Ireland.
RedCat participates in events in conjunction with Brainwave’s numerous charity based events; we’ve raised over £2,500 since the beginning of 2014, and £3,500 since our partnership started in the summer of 2013. Please use our JustGiving link if you would like to contribute to this amazing cause.
