About the role:

Leading digital publisher based in London are currently looking for a Fashion and Shopping Writer to join the lifestyle team on a 12-month contract. The right candidate will preferably be NCTJ qualified and will have experience working for a leading digital publisher. You will have a minimum of two years experience covering celebrity and royal fashion news in addition to emerging trends and seasonal round-ups.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious digital writer to grow and develop, working directly with the Lifestyle UK Editor and Shopping Editor for one of the largest tech companies in the world.

My client encourages hybrid working including working from home. The benefits package will be commensurate with this experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Pitch, write and upload engaging fashion and shopping news content and original features in a timely and well-researched manner.
  • Work alongside the Shopping Editor to add affiliate links to content where appropriate.
  • Work alongside the Audience team to ensure your content is maximised.
  • Help develop and grow the Yahoo Life UK brand while staying connected to the existing audience.

What skills you need:

We are looking for a journalist who:

  • Has some media law training.
  • Knows fashion. An understanding of trends and brands is a must.
  • Is experienced using a CMS.
  • Uses data to inform pitches.
  • Is a good communicator and able to take direction.
  • Has a good understanding of SEO.
