About the role
The role is helping build new functionality around building communities for a number of media outlets – primarily online newspapers and magazines. They’re implementing new ways in which users can interact with articles, primarily around commenting, live chats, Ask-Me-Anythings with journalists and the like. This can be anything from a Social Media Manager or the writer of an article responding to the latest comments and questions from their users; Chats alongside a current event i.e. a football match, speech, election and similar, and being able to raise important comments to those following, or ask pertinent questions to the writers; or even just having a strong community of regular commenters who can solve each other’s problems.
This has been looked at a smaller scale for some of their brands, with the aim to roll this out across their businesses, which attracts tens of millions of views in the UK.
