About the role:

Senior Editorial Manager required for a leading digital travel company based in London. The role will by hybrid working 2 days a week in the office. You will be responsible for managing 3 key blogs – creating and executing on the editorial strategies of the blogs while managing a small team.

If you passionate about editorial strategy and content creation, can spot a good story from a mile off, geek out over SEO and know how to get the best out of a team of content writers? This is the role for you!

The role will also have the following responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of all three blogs, including article ideation, briefing, scheduling and publishing
  • Management of editorial calendars through our project management platform
  • Project management of any design, dev or SEO enhancements required across the three blogs
  • Management of an Editorial Assistant, plus internal copywriters and freelance writers
  • Managing the relationships with external agencies including a dev agency and a performance agency, including executing on the strategies and enhancements shared by the agencies
  • Responding to campaign briefs and supporting brand and tactical campaigns with relevant editorial ideas
  • Working closely with the social media team to identify compelling stories from within our community of past guests
  • Cross collaboration with our product team, web team, analytics team and CRM team to ensure editorial alignment and optimisation
  • Management of three monthly blog newsletters (1 per brand) – selecting the content to feature and briefing to copywriters
  • Monthly reporting and regular performance monitoring
  • Management and regular updating of blog guidelines

What skills you need:

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience in a related creative / editorial role
  • A background in travel is desirable, but not essential
  • Expertise in copywriting, editing, image selection and content execution
  • Experience in creating copy for different brands, adapting copy and content to each brands unique tone of voice and demographic
  • A keen eye for detail across all mediums including copy, video and imagery
  • Experience in managing contributors, freelancers and editorial staff, getting the best from all team members
  • A thorough understanding of SEO and best practices
  • Well versed in social media, including creative strategies and ideas for sharing editorial content on social media
  • Confident in senior stakeholder management, including the ability to present ideas to key leaders within the business (CMO, CEO etc)
  • Well versed and passionate in content and industry trends
  • Super organised, can work to tight timelines and priorities
  • A bold, creative, ideas person with a passion for incredible storytelling, but who’s also happy to get stuck in and get their hands dirty
  • Experience on is desirable but not essential
