Spanish speaking Sports Editor required for a leading London-based online news provider to cover sports stories in the Spanish market on their website. Managing a team of reporters, you will be tasked with story selection and filing those stories out to the reporters. Excellent editorial judgement is a must, as well as previous experience in a digital media environment. This is a 12-month fixed term contract offering a competitive salary + benefits.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in a digital newsroom
  • Strong knowledge of sports including sports in the Spanish market
  • Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English
  • Previous experience managing reporters in a newsroom setting
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others

About the role

Your day will involve familiarising yourself with the websites content and the top current trending sports stories. Using your excellent editorial judgement, you will be responsible for story selection and filing them out to the reporters you will be managing. You will play a crucial role in the editorial meetings and contribute to the editorial objectives set by the main editor. Your language skills (fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English) will be utilised to curate content in both languages correlating to the Spanish sports markets.
