Web Engineer (Front-end with React) | Ecommerce | Camden | Paying up to £70,000

web engineer

This role is genuinely good. I recruit for lots of roles across front-end and always try to find the best role for the right person, but if anyone has the right skill-set for this role I would always recommend this one first.

Trying desperately to avoid cliché, I will just say this company is massive and the scale of the work is huge. The client in question is replatforming over to React and Redux. You won’t be making technical shortcuts in your work; you will be working in a TDD environment, ensuring quality; and you will be working in a team that’s really proud of the product they’re releasing.

Realistically they’re looking for someone with strong experience in JavaScript (with knowledge of object orientation, design patterns etc), as well as frameworks and libraries such as React and Redux. Although it won’t be your every-day work, you will also need great ability with CSS, as well as pre-processor knowledge with SASS/LESS. As I mentioned previously, you will be working in a TDD environment, so experience preferably with Jasmine, Enzyme and Jest is preferable. As a client with their head-screwed on, the main thing is understanding the application of TDD. If you don’t have a huge amount of commercial experience but know how to build in a TDD environment, you’ll be fine. To succeed in this role, you’ll need not just an understanding but also know how to apply best practices and software engineering principles to the code you write.

What’s in it for you:
– A very decent salary. Some companies pay more, but they do pay just over market rate.
– You’ll get to work in an amazing team with an array of backgrounds and skills.
– Get to have an amazing name-brand on your CV for when you might want to move forward later on in your career.
– A good benefits package – cash packages, early summer finishes, good amount of holiday days, discount.

Would always be interested to chat to great people and let them know more about this role. Drop me an email on JP@redcat-digital.com if you think it could be for you.
